IT'S something any red-blooded male will have failed to notice.

The average gal is getting curvier, and with that means bigger boobs!

The extraordinary changes in shape are reflected in the figures of some of the biggest stars from each era.

The average woman in 1967 was a 34B, the same size as actress and fitness guru Jane Fonda and other sixties stars – a fair bit smaller than today’s average 36DD.

By the 70s women’s boobs had grown to a 34C the same as Barbara Streisand who starred in hit films such as A Star is Born and On a Clear Day You Can See Forever.

The boobs kept on growing and by the 80s the average bra size was a 34D.

Actress Daryl Hannah, best known for her 1984 hit move Splash, sported the average size breast for that era.

By the 1990’s it was just the cup size that was increasing, expanding to a 34DD, the same size as Halle Berry who had movie hits in this decade with The Flintstones and Bulworth.

But the 90s also saw a surge in surgically enhanced boobs – think Pamela Anderson from Baywatch.

The rise in these cosmetic procedures makes it hard to judge what the average size of a woman’s boobs were.

By the 2000s not only were plastic surgery ops still in full swing, but an obesity crisis also meant women’s bust sizes were getting bigger.

By then the average bust size is a 36D, the same as Scarlett Johansson who has had hits with Lost in Translation and Match Point.

Now the average bust size is a massive 36DD thanks to growing levels of obesity and the popularity of boob jobs.

Few stars have busts which match the size of the current miss average but one who does is the surgically enhanced Kim Kardashian.

The average sizes of women's boobs over the last six decades

1960s: 34B

1970s: 34C

1980s: 34D

1990s: 34DD

2000s: 36D

2017: 36DD

International lingerie brand Bluebella charted how the average woman’s boobs have changed using Government statistics from the last six decades.

Bluebella chief executive Emily Bendell said: "The way women's busts have changed over the last 50 years has been remarkable.

"Better health, diets, improved fitness and the trend towards bigger and often surgically enhanced busts make miss average from today barely recognisable from her 1967 counterpart when it comes to her figure.

"To go from Jane Fonda's 34B bust in 1967 to Kim Kardashian's surgically enhanced 36DD breasts in the space of two generations represents a bigger shift in 50 years than is probably reflected in the previous few centuries.”

Bluebella is one of the UK's fastest growing lingerie brands and it is rapidly expanding in America where the trend towards bigger bust sizes is similar to the UK.
